Ectaco, Inc., widely known for its Language Teacher® translators, has released an innovative device - Universal Translator™ UT-103 with a unique speech recognition system.
The speech translator recognizes a phrase pronounced in English, translates it into one of the three languages (French, Spanish or German) and pronounces it.
The UT-103 contains approximately 3000 phrases and expressions in different topics which can be used in hotels, restaurants, banks, transport and even beauty salons.
The UT-103 is equipped with a Toshiba 32-bit 75MHz processor, 16 Megabit RAM, 64 Megabit ROM and a LCD-display. The device weighs only 110 g and is very compact (11 x 6.4 x 2.3 cm). The UT-103 takes two AA batteries, which last 36 hours. The price is $249.95.
